Silicon Wave, Inc., a leading supplier of integrated circuits for Wireless Personal Area Networks, today announced that the SiW1712™ UltimateBlue™ radio modem has received certification for use with CDMA chipsets with an integrated Bluetooth® baseband. The SiW1712 radio modem, which is Bluetooth Specification Version 1.1 qualified and Version 1.2 compliant, enables CDMA chipset licensees to quickly, easily and inexpensively integrate Bluetooth wireless functions into their mobile phones. The SiW1712 radio modem is currently in volume production and is available in a 5mm x 5mm 32-pin QFN package or as RDL bumped die to enable under 5mm x 5mm modules. Samples are available exclusively from RF Micro Devices, Silicon Waves global channel partner for its CMOS single-chip radio processor and stand-alone radio modem Bluetooth solutions. The SiW1712 radio modem is implemented on a standard CMOS process and has low spurious emissions and excellent cellular blocking performance exceeding requirements. Outstanding performance is achieved while maintaining low current consumption in active and standby modes. The SiW1712 radio modem also meets the stringent radio performance requirements for CDMA mobile phones, accelerating time to market for mobile phones with integrated Bluetooth wireless technology.
